Looking for the best food delivery app in Edmonton? Whether you're craving pizza, burgers, or your favourite local cuisine, finding affordable and convenient food delivery matters.
Uber Eats is one of Canada's most popular delivery platforms. But if you're searching for cheap food delivery in Edmonton or want to support local restaurants, Fiesto offers a local-first alternative worth exploring.
What makes Fiesto different? It's designed to offer value not just to customers, but to the restaurants preparing their meals.
Let's compare Fiesto vs Uber Eats.
What Is Fiesto?
Fiesto is a local food delivery marketplace serving Edmonton and surrounding communities, connecting customers with neighbourhood restaurants while helping local businesses grow.
With a 15% restaurant marketplace commission, Fiesto gives participating restaurants more flexibility to offer competitive menu prices, promotions, and loyalty rewards.
Customers can explore local restaurants, discover food deals, browse menus, and order through the Fiesto app or website.
What Is Uber Eats?
Uber Eats is a popular food delivery platform operating across Edmonton and Canada.
It connects customers with local restaurants, national chains, and other merchants, offering delivery tracking, promotional discounts, and Uber One membership benefits.
However, Uber Eats orders can include delivery and service fees, making it worthwhile to compare prices before checkout.
Fiesto vs Uber Eats: Quick Comparison
Fiesto's marketplace commission depends on its merchant agreement. Uber Eats' published 20%–30% rates apply to its standard delivery plans; other plans have different rates.
1. Cheap Food Delivery in Edmonton: Which Offers Better Prices?
When searching for cheap food delivery in Edmonton, your final order total matters.
Uber Eats may charge delivery and service fees depending on the restaurant, order size, and membership.
Fiesto offers a different approach with its 15% marketplace commission, compared with Uber Eats' published 20%–30% standard delivery commission plans.
This lower commission gives participating restaurants more flexibility to offer competitive menu prices and special deals.
Is Fiesto cheaper than Uber Eats?
Not necessarily on every order. Restaurant prices, promotions, and delivery charges vary. However, Fiesto's lower-commission approach creates opportunities for better value for restaurants and customers alike.
2. Why Local Restaurants May Prefer Fiesto Over Uber Eats
Food delivery isn't just about customers. It's also about the restaurants behind every order.
For independent restaurants in Edmonton, high marketplace commissions can reduce margins and make competitive pricing more challenging.
Fiesto is built to give local restaurants a better deal.
Here's why its model can appeal to restaurant owners:
- Lower marketplace commission: Fiesto's 15% rate is below Uber Eats' published standard delivery plan rates.
- More revenue retained: Lower commission charges can leave more money with the restaurant on comparable orders.
- More pricing flexibility: Restaurants have additional room to offer competitive menu prices and discounts.
- Local visibility: Fiesto helps neighbourhood restaurants connect with nearby food lovers.
- Customer loyalty: Participating restaurants can offer promotions and rewards that encourage repeat orders.
Uber Eats offers advantages of its own, including an established customer base and delivery network. But for local restaurant owners focused on marketplace costs, Fiesto offers a compelling alternative.
And when restaurants have more flexibility, customers may benefit from better offers, competitive prices, and more reasons to order local.
3. Local Food Delivery in Edmonton and Nearby Areas
Fiesto isn't limited to Edmonton. Its local marketplace focuses on the Greater Edmonton region, including:

Restaurant availability and delivery coverage vary by address.
4. Food Delivery Deals, Discounts and Rewards

Fiesto: Explore participating restaurant promotions, local food deals, and eligible loyalty rewards.
Uber Eats: Discover merchant discounts and Uber One benefits, including $0 delivery fees on qualifying orders.
The best deal depends on the restaurant, available offers, and your final checkout total.
